What to Wear

What to Wear

Skaters ages 3-7 are required to wear a bicycle helmet and gloves/mittens when learning to skate. All children are urged to wear a helmet.  Please wear a warm jacket; skaters should wear warm clothing that is easy to move in and not restrictive. It is recommended that levels Basic 3 and above purchase skates. Skate rentals are used and reused by many different public session skaters and are difficult to maintain.

“Phase 3 does not include any changes to the current indoor sporting event rules."

ONLY ONE PARENT IN THE RINK WITH ANY SKATER OR HOCKEY PLAYER - We need to limit the amount of patrons at Terry Conners Rink

Mask Rules: Everyone who enters the Rink must wear a mask/face covering. You are required to keep your mask on at all times - including in the locker rooms, and player benches. The only exception is skaters on the ice can choose to not wear their mask, coaches are required to wear their mask on the ice.

WINTER CYCLE: NOV. 12 - JAN. 23, 2021 (8 wks)

Due to covid restrictions only 25 skaters are allowed on the ice at one time; this includes skaters, instructors, and assistants. In order to provide skating lessons to our customers we have to separate classes as much as possible so the individual classes are only offered on one day a week. There will be no practice time during lessons in order to keep to the State of Connecticut Parks and Recreation's indoor recreational guidelines.

Unfortunately for the Fall Lessons we will not be able to teach beginner skaters. Due to guidelines set forth by the Learn to Skate USA Organization they strongly recommend no beginner skating lessons until restrictions are lifted by the State of Connecticut. Skaters must be in level Basic 2, SS3 or above to participate in the Fall Lessons.

Our Group Lesson Program is Learn to Skate USA, endorsed by the U.S. Figure Skating and USA Hockey.  Our program follows the curriculum and guidelines of Learn to Skate USA. All skaters enrolling in our program must be members of Learn to Skate USA and membership is 18.00 per year. Membership runs from July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020.
